It has been many years since I helped Dexter blog. For any readers who stumble across this page, I wanted to post that Dexter was gently helped over the Rainbow Bridge in February 2021.
He made so many friends in the neighborhood and online. When he passed away, a group of his fans donated a memorial brick in his honor to help build a new path at a local dog rescue. I think the words say it all.
Our hearts go out to your mom and dad, Dexter. We will always and forever miss you and Mango♥ You guys were the best♥
ReplyDeleteI remember yall. Dexter will be in all of our hearts forever. (((Hugs))) to your mom and dad, Dexter.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Dennis always spoke very highly of his old friend Dexter."
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "Not to mention Mango the Relentlessly Huge."
Charlee: "We're sure the whole gang is having a fine old time over the Rainbow Bridge. Maybe they're having a daily flyball tournament, even."
Chaplin: "If they are, I hope it's a little less chaotic than the one Dennis and Mango ran, back in the day."
Charlee: "I'm sure it would be!"
I think they are all together and would be happy that some of you kept in touch and still talk about those days.
ReplyDeleteWe remember Dexter from awkward puppyhood and can't quite believe that so many years have passed. What makes us smile is the thought of so many wonderful reunions at the Bridge. And yes, the blogging world has changed a great deal. We are soldiering on because we are still making new friends. Not as many but it's good for us.
ReplyDeleteWoofs, purrs and neighs,
Everyone at The Poupounette (including #1)
A fun friend from the past - so sorry for your loss. Soft woos and gentle hugs from The OP Pack of today and their Angels.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber along with Angel Dakota, Angel Phantom, Angel Thunder, and Angel Ciara.
Thank you for posting. I too remember Dexter's arrival as a little pup and missed his adventures. I am sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know Dexter, but our mom says he was a good boy and was a good brother to Mango, too. There surely was a great reunion at the Bridge for those two. We send warm hugs to Dexter's family. How nice of your friends to remember him with that brick.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice tribute to Dexter, I sure do miss him, MAngo...along with Dory, Bilbo and so many others....What great times we had back in the day, and what wonderful memories to look back on!
ReplyDeleteEven though Stumpy and I never met Dexter, in real life, his adventures brought us a lot of joy and laughter. I'm sure Dexter, Stumpy, Mango and so many more are enjoying life beyond the bridge while they wait for us. I still feel Stumpy's loss, every day. I know there's only one way to fill that void. Sending love
ReplyDeleteFi told me she met him, and Mango, and many more of her bloggie friends; apparently Tucker runs a buffet that seems to be meeting place. :-) Seriously, though, I am so grateful for the many friends I made through our bloggies.
ReplyDeleteWe miss you so much Dexter. We miss your mom and Mango too. I love the words on the brick.
ReplyDeleteGentle woooos,
ReplyDeleteNuk
So sorry to hear Dexter made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge...I hope he and Mango are running with my FiveSibes up there having a blast. I was thinking of Mango, and came by to visit for memory's sake, and saw this. Sending belated hugs from old friends from afar...
