Serene Scenery Sunflower Sunday

My pals, Zim and Cammie always do a Serene Scenery Sunday post.

Momma and I look forward to those posts every week because we are all about keeping our Sundays serene before plunging into the work week.

We had a lovely day of walkies and baking peach pie with the peaches from our very own fruit trees and just generally relaxing.

On our Sunday afternoon yard tour, we checked out the surprise sunflower.

What do you think? It's a surprise because it just came out of nowhere (well, actually, momma thinks it had something to do with the grass clippings mixed up with sunflower seeds from the bird feeder).

As for yours truly, just practicing my serene labrapose under the apple tree. It's a great place for keeping a watch out for rabbits and whatnot.

I hope one of those apples falls into my jaws of doom. Now THAT would make me serene.

I hope you enjoyed my very first Serene Sunday.

Dexter done!

  4. We think the sunflower is an extra nice surprise. How clever of the birds to think of spreading a few seeds in the grass so that they could have sunflowers to eat from this year

  5. Mmmm, yep I'm feeling serene. Stella on the otherhand would need some of our cousin Tyler's valium, for a serene shot of her hehe. Peach pie looks gooood. We wish our mum could cook. No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella

  10. We had a sun flower grow from the bird seed this year too :) Made Mom smile to see it. Not sure you look to serene under the apple tree - more like "leave me alone" look so I can be serene :)

  13. A "Labrapose" - that's a new one, and I love it. I've never had any plant grow by "surprise" due to a black thumb. Wonderful sunflowers!

  14. Walkies and home made peach pie from home grown peaches sounds like our kind of a Serene Sunday. But what are you doing under that apple tree Dexter? Think you're some reincarnation of Isaac Newton?

  16. You look very dignified and serene in your labrapose. I guess we can't start doing 'Serene Sundays' until we actually figure out HOW to be serene. Of course, that goes for our Mom, too. Usually Sundays are fairly quiet - lots of walkies, frisbee, maybe Mom goes for a bike ride, whatever. But because she was canoodling with those Other Doodles for so long on Saturday, her usual weekly grocery run was postponed, so on Sunday she was biking (despite Dad being all dinged up), and doing laundry and shopping, and taking us on walkies and playing frisbee, and stuff. Fun, but not serene...
