Melting Monday

Friends and loyal readers.

Momma says that I am such a good doggie that I am, well, boring when it comes time to compose blogs. True, I do not bitey things which are off limits or act foolishly, but I believe that my posing skills are noteworthy.

To demonstrate, I present a photo essay I call "Black Lab on a String with Shrinking Snow."

Foolish momma with her big old finger in the photo.

Dexter done!

P.S. I just discovered yogurty goodness!

Subsequently I have increased the frequency of my mournful glances at the cold box.

One can hope.

  1. you still have snow - what the dog? Mmmmm yogurt - pudding cups - all good things that come from the cold box thing.

  2. Yogurt....Yum!

So hap-pee the snows is gone. Hope it doesn't make a comeback!

  3. Did you make the snow melt? I bet that is why you got a yogurty reward!

  4. Is yogourty stuff good for us puppers? Why doesn't our mom give is any? We shall add this deprivation to our growing list of complaints.

    Jake and JH

  5. It is a true art and skill to pose properly for photographs. You do a grreat job!

  6. DEXTER good Buddy... (emphasis on the GOOD pawt)....
You are Never Ever Boring. You are an INSPIRATION to those out there (such as my Blubber Butted Brother)who really need to clean up their acts.

WOW... the JOYS that are to be found... behind the Cold Box door.

  7. Good job Dexter. You know, our snow did the same thing!! Who knew??

    Jazzi and Addi

  8. Yogurt...yummmm....we like it too. We get a spoonful on occasion mixed with kibble. And sometimes when muzzer is having a flavored yogurt for lunch, she will share some. Me and Teka have learned how to eat it carefully off the spoon. :)

    gus n teka

  9. Sounds like artwork, your photo series!! Excellent job with that yogurt tub too!!

  10. I agree that you are NOT boring, Dexter. You don't have to bitey or act foolishly to be interesting! At our house, I asked my husband to be Fage Greek yogurt (my favorite), but he bought Chobani instead. It tasted like rotten blecchh. Seeing Dexter eat that yogurt makes me wonder if Cabana would like to eat the rest of our Chobani.

  11. Typical eh Dexter. We excel ourselves with the most magnificent poses, and then our human goes and sticks her finger in front of the lens.
    I ask you.
    Toodle pip!
PS re your comment: And yes it was a route march. Although not without its enjoyable moments. And my paw is feeling almost completely better today and I have recovered my bounce.

  12. Mom is still laughing at black lab on a string with shrinking snow

  13. Hi Dexter,

We people and labs in Winnipeg are having a snow stormy day. We still have lots of snow which isn't usual even for us. And guess what? My mom got an ice cream maker for her birthday last week and she made 2 kinds of ice cream on the weekend. She can make frozen yogurt and gelato too. I got a dish of each kind of ice cream all for me even though the vet said I need to lose 10 whole pounds. Mama said I had to help celebrate her birthday too! I love Mama!

  14. As I understand it, the PWDs enjoy yogurty goodness, too. I hope Momma lets you indulge regularly.

I do love the Black Lab On A String photo essay. You're a fine walking companion.

  15. You keep working that Momma! She'll let you in that box for sure!!!

  16. Whoa! Look at the size of the yogurt container that you get to clean out, Dexter! All we get is a stinking little one!

    Love ya lots
    Mitch and Molly

  17. That is one dirty shrinking mound of snow, but we aren't fussy - we love any kind of snow.

We are all hoping that all of you and your family were safe today from the devastating events in Boston.

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  18. Hey Dexter!
Wow, I think you are a totally entertaining pooch all the time! Either that snow is melting, or you're eating waaaaay too much of that yogurt and you're growing! BWAR HAR HAR
BTW: Sending love to all in Masterchewsits.
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, COP

  19. Your melting snow photo essay is poignant and striking. Not to mention symbolic of how all things are ultimately lost to the passage of time. Heehee! And melting snow means the cement pond will be open soon, right?!?

    *kissey face*

  20. *SIGH!*

At least woo had some to melt ;-)

  21. That was some EXCELLENT posing Dexter! I give it 4 paws up!!
And, yums on the yogurt stuffs!! It's really tasty, huh?!

  22. Can our snow disappear like that too?

Stop on by for a visit

  23. I like the photo essay!

You get the entire container of yogurt?! The pack gets little dollops that have been frozen on parchment paper. Maybe your Momma could do that for you. A nice cool treat on a hot day or a warm day or even a not so warm day...basically a good treat anytime!

  24. That's a great series of photos, finger and all! Our Labs love yogurt too! My friend's lab figured how to open the fridge.... now he has to be in a crate when they're not home. So, don't figure that one out, Dexter.

  25. Wait one howdy doodie doo minute! Boring? What the crock pot?!

I think not!! Hmph! Dems fightin' words, Dexter's momma. Step into the ring!

    xoxo Miss Fendi HoneyBuzz

  26. Howdy Dexter, looks like you will just have to be naughty for your mum. Obviously it's what she wants cause she seems bored with your goodness! We suggest another poo upstairs, possibly next to the bed ahahahahaha. Hey, did you have to pee on that pile of snow every time you went past to help melt it? Take care mates. We have Boston in our thoughts.
No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  27. The Typist thinks I'm boring too, Dex. Huh! One day, when she least expects it, I'll remind her why she should be grateful I am no longer tearing up her grandmother's cushions and irreplaceable antique objects. Besides, you have vocabulary and that's always interesting.

  28. Poor Dex, like Sampson you are one of the good ones, but there is only so much you can write about the good ones. Oh, Sampson laid on his back for a belly rub is far less interesting than Delilah being chased by a deer.

I like your black dog on a string posing before melting snow theme though, maybe it will go viral. :-)

  29. Ah, Dex, we're also still trying to figure out how to open the cold box on our own. We know it can be done; we've seen videos. It would help if we could train mama to leave a towel looped through the cold box door handle, but so far we are having no success. Maybe we need a canine 'cloud mind' to figure this out for all of us.
